The one link provided in the section titled "External links", only points to the URL http://www.cjh.org/academic/findingaids/ajhs/nhprc/SCA02.html . That web site, once reached, does put up a ["consolation"] web page for that URL, but I still consider this to be an instance of a Dead link, because the "consolation" web page says "Error 404 - Page Not Found", and prominently features an image (see http://www.cjh.org/images/404.jpg) which shows part of a keyboard, including [part of] a "Shift" key and a "404 Error" key. (!)

Someone might be able to find the new URL for the old page -- if it is still out there, someplace. Once it is found (by me or otherwise), it probably should be archived (e.g., using WebCite). --Mike Schwartz (talk) 01:23, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

By some investigating, using the "search" capabilities of the web site http://www.cjh.org/, this new URL: http://findingaids.cjh.org/?pID=109187 ) was found. It points to a page that might be similar to -- (or identical to) -- the page that the old URL (the "Dead link" mentioned above -- ending with "[...]/ajhs/nhprc/SCA02.html") used to point to. Does anyone know what that "CJH Guide to the Records of the Synagogue Council of America" web page used to say? (and, what "features" it used to have [provide]?) If so, then I would like to request some help, in determining whether this "new URL", is a good one to use in place of the "old URL" http://www.cjh.org/academic/findingaids/ajhs/nhprc/SCA02.html. (PS: just in case, the "new URL" [web page] has now been archived, at http://www.webcitation.org/5rLucIVgI; however, it may correspond to only part of that "old URL" web page; and even if it is the right web page, there still could be limited value in the "snapshot" copy of it; for example, it if provides any interactive features, then those might be hard to "capture" by means of any static "file" or bit string.) (another PS: I went ahead and updated the article.) Any advice? Thank you! --Mike Schwartz (talk) 02:35, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
