Comment[edit]

My support for inclusion of this place is the detailed summary of archaeological and historical information contained the work cited by Cuddy. Cuddy makes it clear that he is delineating this place from the future capital, which is located in a different part of the country. A number of Spanish sources of the late sixteenth century mention this place as a "province" and one that was unconquered or unconquerable. Please note that Tegucigalpa contains one more syllable than this place, and that -galpa is common in toponymns of the region.

Please advise if you do not consider this source reliable or if you have read it. There is a contents summary available in the Cervantes Virtual Library website.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Beepsie (talkcontribs) 22:05, 1 July 2010

This is good stuff, I have taken the liberty of formatting the cites in a more consistent Wikipedia style. I have asked the deleting editor to restore this to main space. –– Jezhotwells (talk) 18:50, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
