Until Tonight song credit
The 2000 EMI Music Special Markets album, Angel, which I own, lists McClintock and Parker as the songwriters for Until Tonight. I found Steven McClintock pretty quickly, but I am less sure of Parker's identity. My current guess is that it's Jim (James Ervan) Parker (he's worked the Alabama-Nashville TN scene during the right period), but I can't be sure.
Then I found this wiki page, which lists Tim James as co-writer -- another person entirely. I did a quick search for the album Take Heart in an attempt to confirm songwriter credits for the song, "Until Tonight." Sometimes an image of the album credits can be found. EMI could have made a mistake; more and more the covers are done outside the US and spellcheck is not even always a priority. I am suspicious of the wiki credit, though, as all the credits on the wiki page for Tim James show credits from around the year 2000 onward, and this song came out about 20 years earlier.
I've spent two days trying to find info on this song to verify lyrics and songwriting credit for my own library, to no avail. Does anyone have the original vinyl album Take Heart and can verify at least the last name on the songwriter credit? Thanks in advance. DTavona (talk) 22:09, 25 January 2014 (UTC)
Well I may have stumbled upon the results, and the second songwriter is Parker, but not the one I thought. I stumbled upon the BMI music database, here [1]
and the specific listing is
UNTIL TONIGHT, BMI Work #1575124
This database lists Steven Michael McClintock and Kathleen Ann Parker as the songwriters, NOT Tim James. Unsurprisingly, I found several references on other sites that did credit James, but two were just cut and paste references from this wiki page.
