Why was the status column removed without explanation? Pocopocopocopoco (talk) 01:12, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV?[edit]

I think this article is highly biased. Particularly against China and Indonesia by naming it "Colonial Powers of the 21st Century" without any reference whatsoever. What is the criteria of naming these two countries "Colonial" ? Why not name Russia, India or Spain as colonial true? Since all three have engaged in anti-insurgency operations themselves. Deleted[edit]

I deleted the part that mention Indonesia & China as "Colonial Powers of the 21st century" I ocnsider it to be created with bias against these two countries. If Indonesia & China are "colonial" then why there is no mention about Iraq under US occupation & a partially sovereign goverment? That is a naked colonialism! UNPO News[edit]

Wednesday, 02 July 2008 West Papua: Indonesia passes autonomy bill All factions in Indonesia’s House of Representatives have agreed to pass legislation giving a legal basis for the implementation of special autonomy in West Papua.

West Papua was created from the western part of Indonesia’s Papua province in 2003.

Since West Papua elected a governor in 2006, the administration has not received any special autonomy budget allocations [because of an Indonesian court’s decision holding that the split between West Papua from Papua province was in violation of Papua’s autonomy laws, established in 2001].

The Jakarta Post reports that the government and the House have now agreed on a bill, due to be passed this week, that gives a legal basis for West Papua’s special autonomy.

Members of the House say the government needs to reinforce the legality of West Papua’s existence.

The House also urged the government to evaluate and monitor the resources and allocations of special autonomy budgets both in West Papua and in Papua. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Imperopol (talkcontribs) 11:50, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nunavut[edit]

I'm going to remove Nunavut as I don't believe it fits here properly, Nunavut was granted separate territorial status from the Northwest Territories, but in reality, territories in Canada are not very autonomous, and actually are less autonomous than the provinces, if anybody disagrees with me please message me on my talk page.
