Reviewer Comment

[edit]

Either my comment in the AFC comments wasn't clear, or User:FloridaArmy has misread it, and I think that the latter is more likely. I never meant to suggest that one film be redirected to another. This draft disambiguation page identifies three films with the same title, but only one of the film articles exists. I shouldn't and won't accept a disambiguation draft that points to only one existing article. Do drafts of the other two films exist? There is no obvious reason why one of three old films should be primary. Once two or three of the film articles are in article space, this disambiguation page can become primary. I am neither accepting nor declining this disambiguation draft until I see another film draft. Robert McClenon (talk) 18:08, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The submitted disambig page links to 3 articles. The existing French film article and articles on the directors of the other two films.
For what it's worth Oscar Micheaux is among the most famous African American directors in history. All of his films are notable. If I was able to spend less time on these arguments I coukd spend more time exapnding the encyclopedia to include his work and that of other underrepresented figures. Bottom line: the disambig complies with policy. If the redlinks horrify you then delink them. Just make sure to watch the target pages so when they are created you can add them back. Seems like redundant work to me but have at it. FloridaArmy (talk) 18:19, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
