Notability[edit]

The notability of this band has been questioned today. Although I'm not a big fan of the band, I think it's clear that they meet the following accepted notability criteria for bands:

  • (#1) "It has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician/ensemble itself and reliable" - references and external links in the article easily satisfy this in my view.
  • (#4) National tour. They have certainly toured around the UK. This is mentioned in some of the articles linked to in the article.
  • (#5) "Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e. an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable)" - 2 albums on Slumberland Records, as well as being released on other labels in several countries.
  • (#7) "Has become the most prominent representative of a notable style or of the local scene of a city" - Leeds - see the Leeds Music Scene site

I've only done a brief Google search to find the references and external links used in the article. I'm sure there's more out there. They have also been played quite a bit on national radio, including on BBC 6 Music's Rebel playlist, and featured in the 6 Music Chart [1]. It's clear to me that they're plenty notable for an article here. If anyone thinks anything is lacking in the article, please try to improve it or discuss concerns here. Tagging articles without explanation achieves little. --Michig (talk) 20:57, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Always hard to tell when an article is unreferenced, as it started out. Good work I agree notability is now properly established. Wednesday Next (talk) 21:22, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Which external links do you have concerns about? Interviews and reviews seem reasonable to me. MySpace page seems to be their official website at the moment. The main text of the article could still use a lot of work - hopefully someone with more interest/knowledge of the band will have a go at improving it.--Michig (talk) 21:46, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
