[edit]

As John S. Wilkins has no entry in the encyclopedia, and is neither linked nor cited, and he also makes very little active contribution these days although he was a founding member, I have deleted him. John Wilkins 08:58, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dodgy bits

[edit]
"The blog takes its name from the book of the same name by Stephen Jay Gould,"

No, the blog takes its name from the pub of the University of Ediacara, which takes its name from Gould's book.

"According to Kevin Drum of the Washington Monthly, The Panda's Thumb was started in response to a controversy in which the Harvard Law Review"

Just goes to show you that verifiable doesn't always mean true. There's always some untoward behavior that is current among antievolutionists; the particular case Drum mentions was not a causal factor in getting PT going. Post hoc ergo propter hoc simply isn't on for PT. --Wesley R. Elsberry 00:55, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've edited the article to remove the erroneous claim concerning causation. --Wesley R. Elsberry (talk) 04:01, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Verifiable source, 2004/03/24.

It is a mere coincidence that one followed on the heels of another, though I'm quite certain that some of our friends from the Discovery Institute could put together a compelling Argument from Really Big Numbers showing the staggering implausibility of those two things occuring in that specific order by random chance alone."
Added to show that we were prompt on correcting that. --Wesley R. Elsberry (talk) 04:33, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've added the additional level of indirection concerning naming to the article to make it accurate. --Wesley R. Elsberry (talk) 04:04, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's good to know, I wasn't sure myself as I lately rescued some links to it using the Wayback Machine. Other reasons could be moved articles or transition to HTTPS... —PaleoNeonate11:15, 13 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
