If you reference a translation from an ancient currency into a modern day equivalent you must state the epoch of the translation. i.e. 50 B.C.E. denerii into 1972 U.S. Dollars. The value of both currencies is far from constant. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.146.224.18 (talk) 19:05, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Substantial Cut"

[edit]

"Vorenus is reinstated into the army as Evocati prefect (with a substantial cut in his promised signing bonus)." Vorenus was initially promised ten thousand sestertii which was reduced to nine thousand sestertii when he reluctantly accepted. Is ten percent a substantial cut? Mark Antony was displeased with Vorenus but still pleased to have him return. I think using the word substantial to describe the reduction is an exaggeration. "murum aries attigit" redirecting to a page about a Rome episode is kind of like how "you can't go home again" redirected to a battlefield galactica episode for like 6 years. Bravo, Wikipedians. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.244.46.193 (talk) 05:35, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
