Yellowing
[edit]I have no idea what causes the yellowing of thoriated glass. Is it a chemical process or is it radiation bombardment?
- Apparently it's radiation damage. It's said (but I can't verify) that it can be reversed by exposing the lens to UV light, sunlight will do although it takes a while. Rocknrollsuicide (talk) 01:53, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
- This is what I hear as well (but it hasn't worked for any glass I own). The question is what is happening at an atomic level. Clearly something is going on with a lattice structure but I cannot find any publications Bostwickenator (talk) 05:07, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
