Production vs. Producer

[edit]

A film being an entity's "production" does not imply the entity being the producer of that production: Star Wars was a Lucasfilms production, produced by Gary Kurtz. Altho WP's Dab page currently has at least one nonsensical entry about distribution that perhaps is what keeps it from being helpful in this case, Tim's V... is a Penn and Teller film, with Teller as producer.
(Since we have this case in point at hand: Penn and Teller is about the performance team, as everyone will expect. We certainly can use more topic experts, and editors who come here to contribute or improve articles will always be welcome. But WP is less made of articles than it is of linkages, and attention to their accuracy is invaluable. I had no idea who the producer was, and it may even be that they produce their own stage act, jointly. But i do know what everyone who's heard of P&T knows: the article bearing their name is bound to be primarily about their stage act, and the accompanying article should link in the context of their jointly producing to some (currently hypothetical?) section of the article discussing their self-production of (at least) their act, not to our coverage of them as "American illusionists and entertainers". Keep the copy coming, but we can also use more attention to whether the links make sense. You may find such crap by being an expert on this or whatever topic, but i know mostly how little i know. Yet 95% of us do know that a link to Penn and Teller in the context as producers is a mistake if it's a page lk rather than a section link. I found out what i wanted to know about the film i just heard of, but i didn't leave the page without checking out the exact target. The fact-checking resulting in my 1st 'graph and my edit was just due diligence before repeating a (potential, and as it happened actual) error of fact, after realizing the link needed to change.)
