Mistake in date of Ceide Fields

There's an inconsistency in ceide field dating between this article and its source. This article claims 5500 BC, however the source ( http://www.museumsofmayo.com/ceide.htm ) says the fields are "over five and a half millennia old". Obviously the date on this article is a mistake and should be listed as 3500 BC. Just wanted to bring that up, however I'd like to leave the article editing up to somebody who has more expertise on the subject. 74.102.3.14 (talk) 06:40, 24 July 2015 (UTC)

really big missing bits here

There is now considerable, if not overwhelming, evidence that the earliest use of many agricultural techniques was in the New World of New Guinea. In addition, several of the most important food crops (by quantity if nothing else) originated in these areas (maize, tomatos, potatoes, ...), in SE Asia (oranges, chickens), Central Asia (apples...), etc. This timeline needs rather urgently to be corrected. ww 03:54, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Need expert attention

World was expecting massive food shortage about 40 years back due to population explosion. But technological innovations avoided food shortage. Green revolution in countries like India & China avoided food shortage. But none of these achivements is appearing in this article. --Indianstar 14:30, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

Mehrgarh, Mehrgarh, Mehrgarh

Too much attention to a single site (Mehrgarh). Yes, developments on Indian subcontinent were important, but not so much as to dominate about 5 of the first 10 points of a Timeline of Agriculture... Timeline desperately needs proper credit to the Sumerian and Levantine originators of so many crops and techniques, and to the Andean inventors of terracing. JDG 12:56, 12 June 2007

Headings

This is a chronological list and therefore it should not have headings related to specific geological, political, or ethnic boundaries. This restricts an apropriate section to add an item from, for examples, the Americas or Africa. Witout objection, I would like to change the headings to reflect time periods.
