Treasonable Practices Act 1795 → Treason Act 1795 — Treason Act 1795 is the correct term: see the external link to the OPSI website; it was also the name used by the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 which repealed it; and there is no source supporting the assertion that the name Treasonable Practices Act 1795 was ever used. Also the editor who moved the page in the first place (from Treason Act 1795, where this article started out) did not redirect any of the pages that link to it. - I think the problem arises as this act pre-dates the convention of using official Short Titles as the Statute Law link shows its Short Title was only granted in 1896. A quick web search does throw up some sources which use the unofficial title.[1][2][3][4].
- Whichever place the article ends up at there should be some mention of the official Short Title and the unofficial title used by many sources. Road Wizard (talk) 00:40, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks, I have added the source. Richard75 (talk) 18:22, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
