Withdrawal loopholes?

Are there loopholes in international law to withdraw from a treaty even if it's not allowed?

For example: Suppose that Scotland becomes independent from the UK, then it doesn't inherit the UK's treaty obligations. Then suppose that later the territory that makes up the rest of the UK is ceded to Scotland. Now you have a situation where what is de-facto the same state has lost its treaty obligations without needing to formally withdraw. Is this a legitimate loophole? Or there is something to stop this? 84.211.61.187 (talk) 23:25, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
