POV
[edit]Could this article be any less neutral? It is obvious that its author sees the Mariviates as a group of deranged heretics and makes no real attempt to hide or disguise this! —69.96.225.188 (talk) 05:40, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
I find this article disturbing, what with statements like "a certain woman" which it appears to me to be an insult since the author obviously knows the name of the nun in question, and indeed she is named a few lines later. the trowing oneself at papal feet, very dramatic... there's an unopened quote that makes you wonder which part of a statement is speculation and which is the reporting of a papal order. how is this article still in this form? —62.3.69.171 (talk) 12:37, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
The document, Tribus Circiter, restated the 1904 excommunication and suppression of the society of priests, so the subject of the Wikipedia article, is by its nature a POV. Nevertheless, this Wikipedia article should be WP:NPOV but at the same time convey the enmity, about the clergy's insubordination, that I read in the document. I removed all the long direct quotes that were added in this 2012 edit since there is a direct link to the English translation of the document on the Vatican website. That edit removed references to paragraph numbers in Tribus Circiter which I brought back into the article. I added quote marks around the direct quotes to address what 62.3.69.171 brought up about distinguishing the Wikipedia contributors work from the Tribus Circiter content. I also reworded most if it. The article would benefit from more references to reliable commentary since it is essentially a rewording of the source document now. —BoBoMisiu (talk) 00:16, 11 October 2014 (UTC)
