Unfavorable anticyclonic flow aloft?[edit]

This was really in the annual summary for Elena? Normally, anticyclonic outflow is favorable, so Paul must mean either (a) strong mid-level ridging, which would prohibit convection of any type or (b) west to northwest shear on the northern edge of the anticyclone, which is seen in the Elena satellite image. Though it's unrelated to the article, Paul was the one who hired me into the NWS back in 1992. =) Thegreatdr (talk) 17:37, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
