The original route was built 1952-53 per bridge dates on the Union Street Expressway and Mathews Bridge, as well as 109 over 115; the original bridge on 115 over 202 was dated 1952. Arlington Expressway bridge dates (other than under 109) are 1961, so that part was upgraded on the spot from an earlier approach road.
