Debut of Big John?
[edit]The event marked the first appearance of referee "Big" John McCarthy, who would be a staple in the UFC until his retirement from the UFC in late 2007.
I removed the sentence above because I'm not sure it's true. I was just watching a UFC 1 recap show and could have swore I saw Big John referring a semi-final match. Shortly thereafter I saw this quote. I checked on IMDB and Big John is not listed in the credits for UFC 1 but I still believe he ref'ed a match. So until someone can 100% confirm it, I think it should be left out. Jason Quinn (talk) 01:39, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
- Although this interview by Big John seems to suggest I am wrong. Jason Quinn (talk) 01:42, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
- I reverted my edit for now. I would still like to see that UFC 1 match again but I guess I was mistaken who the ref was. If you've got the tape, take a gander to let me know. Jason Quinn (talk) 01:50, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

Errors in results
[edit]I fixed two errors after watching some of the fights on UFC Fight Pass, but I am noticing that they are also mixed up on Sherdog as well, which I thought was a decent source. Also, can someone else watch the Remco Pardoel vs. Alberta Cerra Leon fight and tell me what type of submission Pardoel uses? I am fairly positive it is not an armlock, but it is some type of choke that I am unclear of becasue of the way Pardoel's body blocks the choke from view. If you watch the replay, you can see him letting it go for a split second, it looks like rear naked choke from the top instead of the back. dj_ansi (talk) 07:37, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
