Not destroyed by fire in 1908[edit]

This image shows the ship in good shape going under the Aurora bridge in 1931. http://www.photographium.com/sites/default/files/ship_monongahela_passing_under_aurora_bridge._seattle_washington._1931.jpg

That's definitely the Aurora bridge, which was completed in '32, and the name of the vessel is clear to read.

The article's source is the august Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships. I'm merely a passerby. I would much rather someone with experience in sorting the historical record of ships take on modifying the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.69.153.169 (talk) 23:37, 3 April 2012 (UTC)

Upgraded page[edit]

Replaced old blue infobox with newest ship infobox and inserted appropriate data. Smoothed first paragraph to show ship's career. Wikified existing text. Added 'see also', refs, cat, minor fixes, links, edits, spelling fixes, etc.Wikited (talk) 01:33, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
