Collision while submerged[edit]

I know the CNN article says Newport News was surfacing but the article states: "The collision between USS Newport News (SSN 750) and the Japanese-flagged motor vessel Mogamigawa occurred at approximately 10:15 p.m. (local time) in the Strait of Hormuz while the submarine was transiting submerged. -- 18:16, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Yes, CNN was wrong. First time for everything! --Daysleeper47 13:40, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Let's leave in context of re-assignment of CSG to Indian Ocean[edit]

Please leave in the re-assignment of the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group (CSG) to the Indian Ocean to support operations in Somalia as the background for it transiting from the Persian Gulf. Thanks! --Petercorless 20:44, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

End of service life?[edit]

Is this submarine going to be scrapped or used as a partially torn-down training facility on the ground? Running into a 300,000 ton giant ship must bring very bad damages to a 1/50th size submarine, guess? 11:16, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

The ship is being repaired. Damage was limited to the bow section of the ship. --Daysleeper47 13:40, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Attribution to DANFS[edit]

I have removed the attribution template to DANFS. There is no DANFS article on this ship. Hmmm. --Brad (talk) 23:53, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

Kind of short[edit]

This article seems kind of short. Is there more information that can be added? RJFJR (talk) 20:06, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
