Morrowind

I've added Morrowind to the list of games published by Ubisoft. I'm guessing because the Morrowind article (The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind) states Bethesda as publisher as well as developer, that Bethesda published the game in North America.

Regardless, both the original game and Game of the Year edition that I bought here in Ireland, were published by Ubisoft. I'll double-check re: the xbox version (a family member has that).

Upcoming games published by Ubisoft

Should Assassins Creed have Xbox 360, PC, and Wii by the side of this since it has not been confirmed (nor fully denied by Ubisoft) that it is coming out of these platforms. Plus I don't think there has been any speculation for it even coming out for the Wii (probably because if it's controller it would require heavily modifying). If everyone agrees just change it.--Gamer2325 19:31, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

As a temporary fix I've entered not confirmed in brackets next to all the platforms apart from PS3.--Gamer2325 19:36, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
Speaking of Assassins Creed, Assassins Creed 3 seems (I say 'seems' because they don't say it directly but it is implied by the talk of cycles) to have been confirmed for 2012 http://ps3.ign.com/articles/119/1197894p1.html 74.70.144.120 (talk) 05:06, 6 October 2011 (UTC)

Should the new Rayman game really be listed as December? It should be on the same date as Red Steel right? Arn't they both launch titles for Wii? Cody-schmidt

List of games

The list of games sections on the Ubisoft article are far larger than the rest of the article. Anyone think that the list of games should be moved to its own page? Mankind 2k 18:49, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Yup it needs to be separated. --SkyWalker 12:36, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

It is done. --SkyWalker 07:09, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Conquest: Frontier Wars appears to be made by Ubisoft, yet it's not listed here and is no longer supported by their website. Should it be mentioned? --Zetal911 05:51, 05 October 2009 (EST) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.55.57.153 (talk)

PowerReg Scheduler

My spyware detection program says that the PowerReg Scheduler is adware. Does anyone know if there is any truth in this?? Ks0stm (talk) 20:19, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

Technically irrelevant. Unless you consider registering your software to be a priority it is unnecessary to have it on your computer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.102.196.21 (talk) 07:50, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Vandalism

Come on, why is this in wikipedia? I delete it, it is not encyclopedic. Mallerd (talk) 18:38, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Why do you think it is not encyclopedic? You have newspaper articles all over the place that talk about Wikiscanner and what corporations do to edit Wikipedia in their own favor. -- Erlang01 (talk) 11:53, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
No, I second OP, I actually came to delete it myself but I'm happy to see that someone else agrees that it is unneccessary. It seemed more like the Wikicommunity was trying to laugh at a higher authority because what we have isn't real authority. Put simply: it appeared to be there simply as a taunt. Pathetic behaviour. Official pronunciation

This Wikipedia article says that the correct pronunciation of Unisoft is oo-be-soft. But, according to this explanation, the correct pronunciation is you-bee-soft. However many of the comments of the article also point out that its French founders may not have said it that way. Do we need to edit this page? --Barosl (talk) 12:20, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Latin root, perhaps?

"Ubi" means "where" in Latin. Making Ubisoft's definition "where soft," or through logic, "software." Has anyone else noticed this? I think it is neat. 72.240.177.210 (talk) 19:33, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Ubi comes from "ubiquity" which means "to be everywhere at once", which seems to be the company's plan of expansion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.69.174.233 (talk) 23:48, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Changing "Driver" Release date.

As there's no information about Driver: Working Title, I'm going to put Driver in "Unknown date" instead of "2008". ShifterBr (talk) 03:13, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Harvest Moon

Harvest Moon is not a Ubi's franchise! It published only two episodes of the series, and only for some specific countries or platforms. It did just the same with Resident Evil (Resident Evil 4 for PC was published by Ubi), which does not make it a Ubi product. --Nilton (talk) 22:59, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

New studio

I have added updates and links to the recently opened studio in Singapore. Let me know if this is inappropriate in anyways, and how else I can link to it. Thanks! Curaxir (talk) 07:13, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

Ubisoft Libya

The article says Ubisoft is present in Libya, I haven't seen any article or post that has anything to do with Libya, I think it should be removed Yasserr23 (talk) 15:35, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

Vandalism

Can someone delete this from the article header?

Kept here for you to see:

Are you guys going to help murder and torture people over hiding "long range wireless subvocal speech recognition" (mind readers) and "satalite sound" from video game devlopers during the "FAKE CRASH" as the US needs to now monopolize the flow of information to the chidren about "thought control technology" with all your fucking 8's everywhere?? Why don't you look at the real SOLID STORY, of who you will be killing.

My name is Rhys Paul Hovey, and for sometime, I’ve been investigating the links between “thought control” or “mind control” in the mainstream computer industry, specially those companies which grew during the home computer era (Microsoft, commodore, apple, Atari (warner), Nintendo). Much of this research is rooted around 2 events, the inclusion of my personal information in ROGER WATERS: RADIO KAOS (album about mind control) and introduction of Microsoft’s PROJECT NATAL. Through finding out that WATERS included my personal data in RADIO KAOS, I could pinpoint from the date (I was 13-14 years old) that he most likely was given information obtained via MY COMMODORE 64 MODEM, in which my codename was RADIO CONTROLLED MEGA PIRATE (RCMP), where I set up an appointment with RON SMITH of LMS technologies, to trade a Kracker Jax RAMBOard, for a utilities unlimited SUPERCARD. These are COMMODORE 64 MOD CHIPS. It is highly possibly that my modem data was recorded on their “pedophile detectors”. Since ROGER WATERS:RADIO KAOS, is very forward about mind control, I took this on as part of the reason I was a victim, and assumed that this information used by waters, could discover the links to the HOME computer industry. Indeed I started to investigate EAGLE SOFT INCORPORATED, as they were early home computer organized crime. This soon led me to the “octopus” trail, of Paul Allen, and “rock prophecy” (see youtube: rockprophecy paul allen). and through ESI, was able to obtain, the names of several people who’s names are fake, and who are possibly covert ops. BEN DAGLISH, and ANTONY “the rat” CROWTHER, worked together with ROB HUBBARD on “Auf Wiedersehen Monty (German for “Goodbye Monty”). This may bind ROB HUBBARD, to L RON HUBBARD of Scientology, which was most likely the NAVY, and scientoloy remains the police to this day at the inner level. EAGLE SOFT INC, used “the rat”’s song “FOOTBALLER OF THE YEAR”,. which indeed points to PAUL ALLEN, as well. The reason that this data was stored in CD’s and Video games, is that it would be mass distribution, and exported, and difficult to be destroyed, or hacked. Indeed it is beginning to serve it’s purpose, the adjenda of hiding mind control, and it’s integration with the HOME computer (see scientology MY COMMODORE video). It also shows the role of artists, ROGER WATERS,JAMES CAMERON, KONAMI METAL GEAR SOLID, STEVEN SPEILBERG, DON MATRIX (EA), and how they help hide the mass murder and torture of children with satalite technology. Many of these people have fake names, and are being implicated by the over use of the digit 8, and in many cases 9,42,and 1984. You too, can learn the RADIO CONTROLLED MEGA PIRATE story, and the FOREST HILL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, 1984 incident, district 18, and MR CASE,. and you can see a lot of the state of the art on the fight against MIND CONTROL,. or THOUGHT CONTROL, and you to can help spread awareness, of the depressing and deadly “advertising” related technology, and the artists and fake “activists” involved. ROGER WATERS: Amused to death, the album after RADIO KAOS, song #1 was called: The BALLAD OF BILL HUBBARD, and song #8 was called “too much rope”, and indeed at the 1984 elementary school, a child “MONTY” hung himself in the forest playing with rope, and he was friends with MARC and REESE and JEFF,. now this brings me to Bill Gates deposition video where he mentioned “Marc Andreesen” and “hooks in his API”, I believe that this deposition was related to the operation, Bill Gates, and ROGER WATERS, and STEVE “little boy” BALMER, and STEVE BLANK (Hidden in plain site) all look like fake names to me, and they may be part of it, or criminals. Now we have a problem with NEGATIVLAND,. and CHRIS GRIGG, who was another musician in the ROCK PROPHECY, that worked with EPYX, and ESI, and ROB HUBBARD,. and was in a band called NEGATIVLAND who got into a lawsuit with U2, and BONO,. who is linked to Joseph "live at" Pompei through AUDIO SPOTLIGHT, GRIGG may have been an FBI or NAVY. Getting really close to them all being scientology and caught,. NAGATIVLAND are on SST records. Solid State Transmitters is exactly what is going on here with the permanant mediums, much like EMI records.

SST Records is an American independent record label formed in 1978 in Long Beach, California by musician Greg Ginn. The company was initially called Solid State Transmitters through which Ginn sold electronics equipment. Ginn repurposed the company as a record label to release material by his band Black Flag.

"Controversy" - last paragraph citing a satire?

The last paragraph ('In April 2010 Ubisoft announced the possibility of creating "Gaming Centers"...') cites this article: http://www.bbspot.com/News/2010/04/ubisoft-drm.html The article, however, makes such assertions as "Gamers will purchase hourly licenses for the games, and assent to a full-cavity body search before allowed to play the games in the heavily-monitored gaming cubes." In my opinion, this is clearly a satirical article (plus I haven't found any other reference to this "announcement" from any other source) and as such shouldn't be cited seriously.--94.112.86.233 (talk) 07:22, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Vandalism?

Is the See Also link to Frogs some sort of vandalism? I can't think of any reason for it to be there other than as an insulting reference to that fact that they are a French company. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.251.128.197 (talk) 04:35, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

Adding to controversy.

I will be adding the Rayman Legends to the controversy. While it was at first a fan reaction, it now has devs coming out against the delay and Michel Ancel himself working with protestors.FusionLord (talk) 23:29, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

Little late in saying this but finished. Will monitor situation to see if anything else needs to be added, changed, moved, or removed.FusionLord (talk) 03:07, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

"Ubisoft is the third independent publisher of video games worldwide"

Am I reading the first line of the company details section wrong? Should it read Ubisoft is the third largest independent publisher of video games worldwide or similar? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.27.53.211 (talk) 11:33, 30 January 2015 (UTC)
