Clean Up

This article needs to be expanded and cleaned up and wikified. Someone wrote an article on Islands of Adventure. I merged it and fixed it into this Island's Of Adventure section. This level of quality needs be shown with the other attractions. I will try to work on it if I can. Thank you for your help. --michael180 22:25, Jun 8, 2005 (UTC)

Edited

I edited one of the links, which let to a spam site for free tickets.

CityWalk

Why does CityWalk redirect to here? I didn't even know there was one in Orlando. I was looking for the one in Los Angeles. --LakeHMM 22:04, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

I used information from Universals site and created a CityWalk page. --Dawgs0392 20:50, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
Loews Universal Cineplex is now owned by AMC Theaters.--Natekey 16:43, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Break-up article

I think the article should be broken up into multiple articles,it's tiring to read all that information.

Universal Orlando have a facebook account - www.facebook.com/universalresort . Can someone add that link to the article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shaggycoco (talkcontribs) 17:44, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Per WP:ELNO, links to social networking sites are inappropriate as external links. --McDoobAU93 (talk) 18:03, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Thanks McDoob. Good to know, just as an FYI, there is a link to the myspace page on here, which is why I was asking. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shaggycoco (talkcontribs) 17:51, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Not anymore ... I didn't notice it, so thanks for pointing it out. --McDoobAU93 (talk) 18:13, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

I removed the following in order to get rid of the spam tag. If anyone objects, post here or on my talk page.

Universal Excitement - Fan site
islandsofadventure.com - Fan site
Port of Adventure - Fan site
Universal Ignited - Fan site
IOA Central - Fan site
Orlando Vacation's Universal- Fan site

would it be appropriate perhaps to mention the backlot happenings as well?

New External Link:
I saw the note to add external links to this Discussion Page first so wanted to know what you thought about adding the link to the official Universal Orlando Resort Page on MySpace - http://www.myspace.com/universalorlando —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.6.42.111 (talk) 21:24, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Hey, since I didn't get a response I'm going to go ahead and add the link to the MySpace Site for Universal Orlando, please let me know what you think. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.6.42.111 (talk) 19:50, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

Halloween Horror Nights

I had to noodle this one out a bit to determine if it belonged here in the resort's article and not in the individual park articles. As it is principally held in the Studios park, perhaps it belongs in the Studios article. However, it has hopped around of late, to where it is the resort putting on the show, not the individual park. Opinions?

Three Globe Pictures?

Are three different shots of the Universal Studios globe really necessary? We should select one and delete the others from the article. I vote for the first one.

McDoobAU93 17:19, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Agree. They're totally touristy, and I'll remove them at once. However, I vote for the third one. --MosheA 04:19, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
I think you made the right choice. It looks much better now. --McDoobAU93 15:09, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Cleanup

At the beginning of the article it says that Universal Orlando Resort is the second biggest resort in Orlando behind Disney World, but Disney World has no patr of it that is in Orlando, the majority is in Lake Buena Vista, as the Disney World page will confirm. If someone could put this right that would be appreciated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.235.135.143 (talk) 10:51, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

While you are correct in stating that Walt Disney World is not located within the city limits of Orlando, it is part of the Orlando metropolitan area, and thus for the purposes of identification it is considered to be in Orlando. --McDoobAU93 (talk) 17:31, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

The image File:Bloody mary.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Consolidate templates

I wanted to suggest that we merge the Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios templates into the Universal Orlando templates. I was suggesting we do so using groups for each park and subgroups for the former/future attractions. Please see Template talk:Roller coasters at Universal Orlando Resort for an example. Thank you, ihafez talk 19:41, 5 December 2012 (UTC)

Done! These are the results: Template:Simulator rides at Universal Orlando Resort, Template:Roller coasters at Universal Orlando Resort, and Template:4D films at Universal Orlando Resort. ihafez talk 17:14, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Resort name

As per Wikipedia:COMMONNAME, shouldn't the article's name be Universal Orlando not Universal Orlando Resort. Just like Walt Disney World is used instead of Walt Disney World Resort. I recall the discussion on Talk:Walt Disney World, and how the consensus after two rounds of voting concurs with the aforementioned wiki guideline. By the way, I'm not talking about article content, just the article name. Sincerely, ihafez talk 20:00, 5 December 2012 (UTC)

Competition?

What are the grounds for the claim Disney is competing with Universal. One resort is based on family-oriented franchises, suitable even for toddlers, the other one caters to a more mature audience with horror-themed attractions. If at all ii is a win-win for both resorts, tourists vacationing in the area will likely visit each. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.115.126.63 (talk) 15:29, 28 November 2013 (UTC)
