Vojk is derived from Bajik ?How and why did the letter B changed to V? the words are not even vaguely similar having only two letters in common "j" and "k" From what "turcik " word exactly ?spoken it what language ? i can`t find no data or evidence on this word being turcik . instead i had found this "bajik\" is a Malay word, which means \"welfare\" in English." the rest are hungarian articles that assume this etymology . this article needs more researching . till then Vojk is derived from Voicu witch is a romanian given name . Also the christian name is still Voicu . and Voicu does not mean Stephen . Istvan is derived from the greek Stephanos(crown) also Stephen in English and Stefan in Romanian.

A further note: Stephen/Istvan was the name Voicu was given after his conversion from greek orthodox to roman catholic .

The 'b' changed to a 'v' through what is known as a betacism. It's a common phenomenon in linguistic evolution. DS (talk) 15:47, 6 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
