Process developed by Anthony van Dyck?[edit]

I seriously doubt Anthony van Dyck developed the process, since he died in 1641, and the first known occurrence of anything resembling photographic printing was by Johann Heinrich Schulze in about 1717. More likely, the process was named for the resemblance of its color to the pigment Van Dyke brown.

I've come across another hiccup. According to another source I found (^[1]), the process is named after Frederick Reginald Vandyke, and is spelled "Vandyke brown." I'm not sure where to even start if I want to migrate the page, or even if this new information is true. How should I continue?--Hameltion (talk) 02:07, 31 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
