Speedy deletion nomination of NWSL awards (disambiguation)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on NWSL awards (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
- disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
- is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 18:36, 10 October 2024 (UTC)
DYK for Beata Olsson
[edit]On 15 October 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Beata Olsson, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that when Swedish soccer player Beata Olsson transferred from Florida to Florida State, she said that she did not really know about the schools' rivalry? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Beata Olsson. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Beata Olsson), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

United States girls' national under-16 soccer team
[edit]Hi there, you've just tag me in the page. But I don't know what're you talking about? Can you explain it? Thanks. Stevencocoboy (talk) 03:01, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Stevencocoboy, sorry for the confusing ping. I noticed that you had edited related articles like United States women's national under-19 soccer team and was hoping you might be willing to do squad formatting for the restored under-16 one. But now I realize it's actually Demt1298 who has kept up with that sort of thing so I may ask them if they'd be up for that. Best, Hameltion (talk | contribs) 03:06, 16 October 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Red Links
[edit]Hi Hameltion,
I noted that you linked all the players in the awards section on the 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference women's soccer season and many of them are redlinks. Is the wikipedia policy to link everyone even if some are red now? I thought under Wikipedia:Red link we were supposed to only link articles that have been created. Usually I'll keep an eye out for when you create one and go back and link as they are created.
Thanks, Swimmer33 (talk) 21:40, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Swimmer33, thanks for the question. My thought is that doing all the links at once is just easier. WP:REDLINKBIO says
red links can be created to biographies of people who would likely meet Wikipedia's guidelines for notability
. Off a quick look, Lema, Graham, and Engle are certainly notable already, and others are likely to be soon (though yes, maybe not all of them). It's also useful for future-proofing: 2022 NCAA Division I women's soccer tournament (to pick at random) is missing some links to Dahlien, Iwai, Mercado, Turner, etc. If it's your aesthetic preference though, feel free to remove and readd the links later, not a big deal. P.S. Thanks so much for your work maintaining these women's college soccer articles! Hameltion (talk | contribs) 21:57, 6 November 2024 (UTC)- Ok, that makes sense, I just seem to remember someone chiding me a while ago about too many redlinks so its always stuck in my mind. I know those old NCAA tournaments are missing links, but its hard to keep up with all of them! Thanks for all you do as well! Swimmer33 (talk) 18:51, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah, it's subjective/about what's defensible. For something like every scorer in a 64-team tournament, you might not want all red links because plenty of them will never be notable. But for this crop of ACC awardees, most of them are pretty likely to become notable. Hameltion (talk | contribs) 20:25, 7 November 2024 (UTC)

Career Statistics: Summer Cup
[edit]Hi Hameltion,
I was poking around when I noticed a few edits that you made on NWSL player articles like Claire Hutton and Alex Pfeiffer. In these instances, you added NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup apps/goals under the Cup section of Career Statistics, grouping it with the NWSL Challenge Cup. Is this the right place to add the Summer Cup statistics? I've seen other pages have them listed in the Continental section or even in the Other section, which feels somewhat sensible as well. I haven't been able to find any discussions or collective agreements across Wikipedia, so I'd like to ask you since you have added it in yourself.
Thank you! It's probably a silly question but I wanted to make sure before editing other pages. I really admire your contributions across the women's soccer sphere of Wikipedia and I'm pretty sure I've spotted you on the NWSL subreddit which feels very funny and surreal. Appreciate your time!

- Hi @24Anonymous, thanks for stopping by. It looks like MLS players have Leagues Cup in the Other column, which makes sense to copy. I'm never too sure about stats though; you could try WT:FOOTY for a surer answer. Best, Hameltion (talk | contribs) 04:51, 30 November 2024 (UTC)
- Alright, thank you!
- 24Anonymous (talk) 04:54, 30 November 2024 (UTC)
- Just if you were curious, editors over at WT:FOOTY all seemed to agree that "Other" would be the best section, along with a corresponding note. Thanks again.
