Awful awful awful. Doen't even mention that they are Dutch and the joke isn't funny. Ortolan88

Well, I killed the joke, before you even got there. And only half of them are dutch..." -- User:GWO

This album ushered keyboards into hard rock, something unheard of at the time.

I take it the author of the above sentence has never heard of Deep Purple, Rush, or Rainbow. They had keyboards in their songs and live performances long before Van Halen.

    • True, but Van Halen certainly ushered keyboards into mainstream, popular rock and roll. After Van Halen, almost every rock band used keyboards; before them, it was somewhat taboo.

Innacurate?

"the music video for "Jump" featured Roth "flying" across the stage on a wire harness"

I thought this was "Living on a Prayer" by Bon Jovie? unless this was a version of Jump I never saw... forgive me I was just BORN in 1984... actually I think the video for Panama shows him flying on the stage.

Panama is the video with the members of Van Halen "Flying" with a wire harness

Picture of Roth?

Does anyone have a picture of Roth to post?

References

Would anybody be able to find references for the facts in this article. I think it could be a featured article in the near future.

I've checked over the article to verify the facts and I've listed the references. Most of the facts in the article are in the listed references. --Richy 17:42, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Edward??

Is it really necessary to call Eddie Van Halen "Edward" throughout this article? Yes, fine, that's his real name, but it's not what he goes by. Makes the article sound like a 6th grade book report or something.

I'm going to go ahead and make the changes, and if anyone has a problem with it, they can revert or edit my post.
