Speculation[edit]

We cannot know for sure that she is the daughter of Bill. While the name is suggestive, she could just as easily be the daughter of Charlie, Percy or George all of whome survive. --128.240.229.67 09:39, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Similarly, we don't know she's Fleur's either. There were lots of Delacour cousins hanging around various Weasleys in the wedding scene, multiple family connections are certainly possible -- and she could yet be someone completely differnet. My personal theory is that she is Bill & Fleur's daughter, conceived on the night of the Victory -- hence the name. Everybody would be having 'thank god we're still alive'-sex with everybody else, I'd have thought, that night.194.109.254.26 14:09, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Not only crude, but from what i thought, wrong. If that were true she would be about 19, too old to attend Hogwarts.--Tempest115 14:58, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Not true. She would have been born a full year after Ted Lupin. Still, "'thank god we're still alive'-sex" is a bit sordid for what is, superficially, a children's book.
The fact that her name is Victory indicates that her parents wanted to commemorate those who'd lost their lives and also the fact that she was likely the first child born into the Weasley family following Voldermort's death. I'm not even going to touch your theories that her name comes from the fact that she was conceived on the night of the victory-after all, wizards don't have that kind of knowledge any more than humans do. Unless you think there's a wizard pregnancy test that basically tells a witch that they're pregnant three minutes after the deed is done. Besides, there's no way to know when Victory was born or conceived, though it can be guessed that it wasn't long after Voldemort was killed. Still, in all likelihood she'd be entering her final year at Hogwarts, or maybe even only her sixth year. Denjo 18:46, 23 2007

What exactly are we planning to do with this?[edit]

It says it's up for deletion, but I don't think it should be. Well, actually, it may be a good idea to move the article to some other Weasley or Delacour related article, or into some section that can describe children of Harry Potter book characters. It has a lot of annoying spelling errors, and some of the links go to really ill-fitting or inappropriate places (such as the 'Rose Weasley' article going to 'Weasley family' page. It should direct to the 'List of Harry Potter characters' page, should it not?) I would edit the page, and I have done so just a little to have it make more sense, but I don't want to waste any more time if it's going to be deleted. ISAYsorry 16:20, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I say we should merge this page along with all the other epilogue characters. Or we could just mention them under their respective family trees. Lionheart08 19:02, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
A page with the characters mentioned in the epilogue, you say? Does such a page exist? I checked, but I did not find it. ISAYsorry 19:11, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I meant a page like that should be created. Lionheart08 23:08, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Here's an idea: why don't we just create a page for minor characters who don't fall under any of the other categories or lump her in with the Weasleys? Denjo 19:42, 23 July 2007
I say this theory of Victoire being Bill's and Fleur's daughter isn't true, when there's no proof at all on that basis. She's the cousin of Harry's and Ginny's children, but that's no proof when it could be any other Weasley, too. I say this article should be deleted. Myppan 11:34, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Until it's confirmed by Rowling herself, I think that Victoire's parentage is still up in the air and the Bill/Fleur theory, while a well-reasoned one, is conjecture and thus out of place in Wikipedia. As for all the other kids of the main characters, I think they are best placed as mentions in the articles of their indentified parents. In the grand scheme of the Harry Potter books, they are all ultimately incidental characters that don't really rate individual articles. There is too little known about them to provide sufficient information for more than stub articles at best. -- Pennyforth 13:15, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think the Bill/Fleur theory should be mentioned, since it's the most popular and most likely. It could easily just be called a "theory." 72.67.175.145 02:09, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
There's plenty of evidence that it is Bill/Fleur's child. Is there evidence beyond reasonable doubt? No, but that is the case in most books. Her name being French implies that she is indeed their child. 72.67.175.145 02:12, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
"why don't we just create a page for minor characters who don't fall under any of the other categories" - you're right. It should be moved here.
