Vythiri village or Vythiri city[edit]

Vythiri is a small village in Wayanad district of Kerala, India. The population of the village is 17,820 as per the local council official website: http://lsgkerala.in/vythiripanchayat/about/general-information/. The government of Kerala has recently designated Vythiri as a Tehsil headquarters. The local people are a little excited about it and has started calling Vythiri a city. Please note that Vythiri can attract tourists only as long as it remains a village. The main income of the village is from resorts and restaurants that depend on the heavy inflow of tourists who come to enjoy the undulating tea estate and the salubrious climate. Let Vythiri Village remain as a village and retain its charm. --Prof TPMS (talk) 20:26, 4 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
