Town of Kingston?

[edit]

Is there any town of Kingston, Rhode Island? The R.I. state website suggests there isn't one; see e.g. the menu at [1]. If this is a fake town, perhaps we should remove this link from this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ajd (talkcontribs) 22:04, 21 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

It's a village within the town of South Kingstown. There is an Amtrak station and a campus of the University of Rhode Island there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.34.93.44 (talk) 20:58, 11 April 2005 (UTC)[reply]
If it's a village within the town of South Kingstown, then the answer is no: there isn't any town of Kingston, Rhode Island, which is what I asked. AJD 21:23, 11 Apr 2005 (UTC)

History

[edit]

It's unclear from the history who originally settled this county, and which colony they were allied with or administered by. -- Beland (talk) 16:32, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Map

[edit]

Repost from South Kingstown, Rhode Island looking for a broader audience:

Isn't there a small issue with the map? Isn't Jerusalem actually in Narragansett, so the town line shouldn't be drawn at the channel? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/75/Map_of_Washington_County_Rhode_Island_With_Municipal_Labels.PNG agrees with this.
