About unofficial dot NET backport for Win95
[edit]@Isi96:
I saw, as of now currently, the article is mainly about Win95 with mention of Win3/31/311 NT3/31/351/40...in MS official release context.
Except one, which is your edit, about unofficial release of dot NET for Win95.
There are many unofficial updates, mod, unofficially release such as unofficially OSR3, however...
...my take is, about unofficial updates/release, I would worried myself if I would to add this, will this would be removed for not WP:NOTABLE enough...
Just saying my observation. --- Cat12zu3 (talk) 15:16, 1 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, I added it because it received a fair amount of coverage in WP:RS.
- With regard to unofficial updates, it should be fine to include them provided there's adequate sourcing, such as in the Windows XP article. Isi96 (talk) 23:47, 1 July 2024 (UTC)
- re - on Windows XP - unofficial WinXP SP3 before the real WinXP SP3 (which was in 2005-2007 still within WinXP supported period (way way back to my very 1st account User:Cat12zu ... those were the days...)) & unofficial patch for non-embedded WinXP edition using official 2010s patch for Embedded edition (which is pertaining to 2010s official patch &
inofficialunofficial uses)- mmm....I see. On the other hand, I would had create a new sub-section of (Upgradeability) and titled (dot NET backport) & place right at the end within (Upgradeability) section so that it is arranged chronologically. Just my two cents. Thanks for your attention. --- Cat12zu3 (talk) 01:47, 2 July 2024 (UTC)

The problems with 386 B1-stepping processors
[edit]https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Windows_95&diff=prev&oldid=1241729408
Should this be included in the article? It's a chip bug, limited to B1 386, and the final release of 95 doesn't support it. Eddmanx (talk) 07:25, 23 August 2024 (UTC)
Internet Explorer integration
[edit]An OEM US floppy version of Windows 95 (Mastered on 1995-07-20) included IE 1.0 (on disk #10). There is no UI for it, it is installed unconditionally. 178.49.152.129 (talk) 11:56, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
