Is this page necessarry? It is the exact same game as Pro Evolution Soccer... It could do well in a sub-section in the Pro Evo article, IMO.

No, these are not the same games. PES is an altered version of WE for the international market including serious gameplay changes.

I think Pro Evolution Soccer should be redirect to Winning Eleven

Yeah, i think PES should be moved to here, since it's a localized version, not an original one, like winning eleven is

Removing: "Critics consider Winning Eleven to be better than the FIFA Series by EA Sports."

A very dubious claim after the release of Fifa 06 and Fifa World Cup 2006. The review of Winning Eleven 9 at Gamespot specifically states that neither game is "better" than the other and that gamers may safely choose either.

There is nothing wrong with that claim at all. We are not talking about 2006, we're talking about this past generation of football video games. You need only go to game rankings and compare the scores of the two franchises for the last 5+ years or so to see that winning eleven is indeed the winner among "the critics". If WE had the licences, songs and production to go with its superior gameplay it would be a whitewash.

Btw I compared the scores of Winning Eleven 9 and WC 06 and the former was hands down the winner recieving highs of 88% on the BS2 and Xbox and 93% on the PC. The highest WC 06 got was 77% on the Xbox. Road to the world cup was even worse. The 360 of course was not able to help either. -Does not exist Winning eleven 2 ? Fighting Eleven and Perfect Eleven aren't WE 1 and WE 2 ? (SNES)

No, they're not considered to be part of the WE series. Although they are definitely connected, since the European name for those games for the SNES and PSX were both called International Superstar Soccer. WE series started on the PSX, and WE '97 was probably considered to be the 2nd of the series at the time.

-Winning Eleven 7 and 8 PS2

I am very sure they were released for the PS2, why isn't it on the PS2 list???

Spanish translation?[edit]

Could we get an English translation of the Spanish text in the "parody" section? Otherwise it seems like a bit of an in-joke for Spanish speakers, and the point of including the parody section is lost (in what is, after all, an English language resource).

  - That section doesn't even have any reference, I propose we get rid of it

^^^I agree.

People, please read the article carefully before editing. People STILL keep adding leagues to the "licensed leagues" section which are NOT licensed in WE10. Remember, this section refers to WE10 only, and refers specifically to LICENSED leagues - ie not Premiership, Ligue1, Bundesliga etc. MrBronson 20:38, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Isn't the French League licensed in the current version?

- No it isn't. The text refers to Winning Eleven 10, released in Japan earlier this year. The article is about the Japanese games, and that is the most recent version (apart from the new J-League game, but if someone wants to refer to that, they should make it clear what they're referring to). The problem here is that people are getting confused between Winning Eleven 10 and other games, such as the new European PES release, or the American release, where there are changes to the licenses. But if the text refers to WE10 (which it does, because the article is about the Japanese games and that section specifically says it's about WE10), then the info has to be correct for WE10. Simple as that. To be honest, I'm getting pretty sick of reverting this over and over again, but some people just can't be bothered to read the discussion page or the edit history of a page before jumping straight in with the same wrong information. Sadly, there's no way to stop them... but sooner or later I'll get too bored of this and the article will just have to stay wrong. MrBronson 20:00, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

These pics are not real! Many people change the game with pacths(mods) and then they do a cover for these versions. W11 doesn't use sequencial numbers as (11,12,13...) anymore. The Winning Eleven 11 was called Winning Eleven 2008, and the 12th is Winning Eleven 2009, be careful there are many names and games in the market that are not official or original.

J.League Jikkyou Winning Eleven[edit]

I realized the major J-League Winning Eleven games in fact calls J-League Jikkyou Winning Eleven, and many games in series is missing here. 189.30.67.150 (talk) 12:46, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
