My plans for improving this article
[edit]Hi, I created this article as I've seen the magazines used as a resource for various aircraft articles - but it didn't have its own article! I have the complete set of magazines, so it seemed sensible to try it myself!
This is the first time I've created an article from scratch that's more than a couple of dozen lines long!
- A further thought: when I have completed, I'll find where WAIF is used as a citation source in wikipedia, and link them to this page! At the moment, there are approx. 350 articles, talk pages, wikimedia, etc - so it'll take a bit of time! PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 16:58, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
Here is what I still want to do:
- Complete the listing of A-Z section, with every one in the partworks A-Z section... (a *big* task!) PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 02:20, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
Summary of progress
[edit]All sections have been completed. A-Z of Aircraft is complete enough as it is, but I may create a complete list of all the aircraft within that section - but then again I might not! PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 17:17, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
My reasons for creating this article
[edit]I believe that this part work is a signifant source of information about aircraft and related subjects.
As of 20th July 2009, there are 329 articles which use World Aircraft Information Files as a reference (Perform search here).
Although it may have been superceded by later books, I think that the breadth of coverage makes this a suitable subject for an article. PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 17:17, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
