Telangana Department of Agriculture (Telugu: తెలంగాణ వ్యవసాయ శాఖ),has been created by Government of Telangana mainly to provide Agricultural Extension services to farmers and to transfer the latest technical knowledge to the farming community.[1] Telangana agriculture department separated form Andhra Pradesh as part of Andhra Pradesh bifurcation[2][3] It aims promote agricultural trade and to boost up the agricultural production and productivity in the Telangana.

History

The economy of the Telangana largely dependent on agriculture and most people have taken farming as a profession. The podu system is used in some areas.
