Previous/Current/Next calculation

[edit]

Similar to Template:Infobox NCAA Basketball Conference Tournament, four variables exist in the chart for special circumstances, based upon the Yearly football game infobox template.

First off, here are the 4 relevant variables:

| FirstTournamentEver=
| LastTournamentEver=
| Different Previous=
| Different Next=

....and here is how you use each one:

| FirstTournamentEver= Simply type "Yes" (or anything really) and the backwards pointing year will be
blanked. You should use this if this is the very first year in a string of tournaments.

| LastTournamentEver= Simply type "Yes" (or anything really) and the forwards pointing year will be
blanked. You should use this if this is the very last year in a string of tournaments.

| Different Previous= In this one, you must type in a different link to send the previous year to.
For instance, typing 2004 would point the preceding tournament
to the 2004 SEC Tournament. It is important that you use the year after a | sign so that only the year
shows up.

| Different Next=In this one, you must type in a different link to send the next year to. For instance,
typing 2007 would point the next tournament to the 2007 SEC
Tournament. It is important that you use the year after a | sign so that only the year shows up.

Here is an example of what would happen if you wanted to have this as the first ever tournament in a series. (I removed most of the other variables so it is easier to see):

2004 Southeastern Conference
softball tournament
Finals site
ChampionsAlabama (1st title)
Runner-upLSU (1st title game)
Winning coachMitch Gaspard (1st title)

.....as you can see, there is no previous link, but there is an after link. (to the next one) Now, let's see what happens if I want to link to a different subsequent tournament (this time without turning off the previous one):

2004 Southeastern Conference

ChampionsMaryland (1st title)
Runner-upLSU (1st title game)
