  • ... that Kingdom Tower' is slated for construction starting this year after a contract was signed August 2 and will become the tallest building in the world after it is completed?
  • Comment: The article was nearly a stub, I got it up to GA quality

Thank you. I am disputing that image deletion because any poor quality svg made in five minutes here would make the article look worse than the one that's in it. That image is also historic as to where things stood back then, with the Burj Dubai having an unknown height and the old completion dates. The hook should not be the bin Ladin thing, I've already had to explain to someone else that that is not significant and should not be played up....edit conflict.
No, both of you need to lay off the Bin Ladin thing. Even the liberal media hasn't excessively reported on that fact. The last thing we should do is be worse than them. Daniel Christensen (talk) 00:47, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
However, I suppose my catch is to long and the bin Ladin one will catch people's attention more. So I guess it's fine, because that is the desired effect, lure, then inform. If this does get approved, when will it "go live," so to speak, and for how long? Daniel Christensen (talk) 00:55, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I had a similar idea on the bin Ladin thing; however, the hook is supposed to attract attention. Look at the hook that was once used for the article Mike Jackson (right-handed pitcher) ... that Michael Jackson played professional baseball? Otherwise we could try
  • Alt3 ... that the US$1.23 billion Kingdom Tower will become the tallest building in the world?
It depends on when it gets moved to the prep area. My first DYK was on the main page in less than a week, my second one has spent over a week without a finished review. Ryan Vesey Review me! 01:00, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, go ahead and use the Bin Ladin catch. You might want to get the article showing ASAP while the news is still hot off the press, the biggest day was August 2nd, each day since the mania has been settling down. Daniel Christensen (talk) 01:10, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
But, one thing to note is that with the Bin Ladin line the fact that it is slated to be the next world's tallest is the real significant fact of the matter and should be included. Daniel Christensen (talk) 01:12, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Which hook should we use?

Currently we have

  • ^^ Crisco, you're saying this one? I changed the linking, it should go to the group. Something still tells me Kingdom Tower should go first as the primary target that it is. Everybody will be reading a mediocre article on Binladin group with this version is the only problem I see; it hurts wikipedia when bad articles are showcased on the front page, I'm sure. But, I guess this one's okay, but it should be "tallest building" not "tallest tower" as the ono-mono-pia is not desired in this case. Daniel Christensen (talk) 02:27, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
How about the first one with "and will be the next world's tallest building?" Added on. It's the catchiest, but still mentions the tall part. Daniel Christensen (talk) 01:22, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
So
How about ... that Kingdom Tower is being built by Osama bin Ladin's family's business and will become the world's tallest building?
(Edit conflictx5)On those lines, should Osama bin Ladin be linked or should family's business be a link to Saudi Binladin Group. I'm wary against linking them both. Ryan Vesey Review me! 01:30, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, good idea, link it like this, use the whole name and family business; Osama Bin Ladin's family's business. Daniel Christensen (talk) 01:37, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I like ALT2, with the linking as above. Crisco 1492 (talk) 02:06, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
ALT4: ... that Osama Bin Laden's family's business will be constructing the tallest building in the world, Kingdom Tower?
ALT4 avoids the use of building twice. Crisco 1492 (talk) 03:10, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
However, this ALT5 (... that Kingdom Tower is being built by Osama bin Ladin's family's business and will become the world's tallest building?) is pretty good too. Crisco 1492 (talk) 03:13, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Both of those are the best yet, and although ALT4 is more phonetic it's probably wise to put Kingdom Tower first even though I linked it at the top of the Saudi Binladin Group article. Daniel Christensen (talk) 03:19, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
So do we have a consensus on the newly-numbered ALT5? Crisco 1492 (talk) 09:15, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, totally Alt5, perfect, let's use that. Daniel Christensen (talk) 12:22, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
ALT5 is good to go. Crisco 1492 (talk) 13:25, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
