Policy[edit]

This seems to be a perfect template for linking to music videos on external sites. What is the policy for doing this? Is it acceptable to link to a music video on the artist's official channel on Youtube or on a label's website pr even on Yahoo Music? Mahanga^Talk 21:54, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

According to my understanding, that is permitted as long as the video is legally licensed (which would exclude most of the stuff on YouTube). See Wikipedia:WikiProject_Songs#Lyrics_and_music_videos, Wikipedia:WikiProject_Songs#External_links, and Wikipedia:Copyrights#Linking_to_copyrighted_works for more info on this issue.
