nice work, for once an infobox that is really useful. --dab (𒁳) 16:46, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup

[edit]

The reason I did the show/hide edit was because I have a slow computer and whenever I look up an article about a haplogroup it takes for ever to load the infobox. So I decided to make the infobox a little less gigantic so the articles about haplogroups I go to willload a little faster (every little bit helps!)TESTY (talk) 01:40, 12 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It is hard for me to believe that this show/hide system is going to make any haplogroup article loading faster. Instead it makes us waste time searching for an information that should be in sight. --Maulucioni (talk) 04:01, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
TESTY turned out to be a sock for an indef blocked user.--Andrew Lancaster (talk) 09:24, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Font size

[edit]

This infobox has been criticized by a user posting elsewhere, User:Pdeitiker:

 • "looks kind of cheap, difficult to read."[1]
 • "I am looking at the infobox and its presentability, I noticed that other info boxes use the class="infobox vcard" style="width: 22em; font-size: 88%; line-height: 1.5em; text-align:left" as the table format. However in our infobox the tabled information is text this is difficult to read as it is, but by adding alot of text you are creating an unreadable wall of words, which those reader are not likely to look at" etc. [2]

I think this is the right place to discuss it.--Andrew Lancaster (talk) 09:24, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Now it's easy to read.--Maulucioni (talk) 18:40, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted Pdeitiker's most recent change. Other than the obviously strange ("mutationsDescendants"), there must have been a syntax error somewhere, causing an extraneous

somewhow. ¦ Reisio (talk) 23:36, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Map caption

[edit]

Would it be possible to add a map caption? See [3]. Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 03:02, 7 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Descendant and ancestral group

[edit]

I suppose that terms "descendant" and "ancestral" are incorrect in this context. For example, haplogroup "I" did not descend from IJ haplogroup, it rather belongs to IJ haplogroup. It, of course, descended from a particular mutation in inidividual who belonged to IJ, but calling IJ (as a whole) an ancestor is confusing. --Hwem (talk) 04:33, 29 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
