- 1863 to 2002 Long-accepted as: 4,807 metres (15,771 ft)
GPS measurements begin.
- 2002 Height reassessed as being 4,807.40 metres (15,772.3 ft)
- 2011 4,810.44 metres (15,782.3 ft) and IGN news release
- 2013 4,810.02 metres (15,780.9 ft) (Note that some less official sources reported the height at 4810.06 m)
- 2015 4,808.73 metres (15,776.7 ft)
