Change the |text= to start as "This image is of a '''[[{{{poster_link|poster}}}]]''', and the copyright for it...". See sandbox diff and test case. This is useful as {{Non-free film poster}} is invoking this template, and linking to film poster would serve better in {{Non-free film poster}}, as it did earlier — DaxServer (t · m · c) 16:25, 8 May 2022 (UTC)
Category
[edit]The template page says that adding the template to a file page should automatically put the image into Category:Non-free posters. But that doesn't happen when uploading the image. Template:Non-free video cover works like that but this template doesn't actually add a category when uploading.
See images that I just uploaded using the upload wizard: File:Bruce and the Shaolin Bronzemen.jpg (poster template, no category), File:Ring 1995 film.jpg (video template, category automatically added). Mika1h (talk) 17:21, 11 October 2024 (UTC)
