I have removed syncretic because it is not really related to this template and indeed the apge is very poor.Harrypotter (talk) 09:40, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
Political Spectrum Original Research
[edit]The content is questionable. Under the banner Political Spectrum It arranges 7 pages by degree (Far left, left wing, center left, center, center right, right wing, far right). However this is not what the editors on these pages believe they are writing about (specificially Right wing ) and even if so, the separations are never justified and are WP:OR. IF this is to be an organization then it should be discussed. Mrdthree (talk) 05:52, 30 April 2014 (UTC)
Redundancy or contradiction
[edit]The article on alt-right as it is on September 17, 2017 defines the alt-right "a loosely defined group of people with far-right ideologies." Which that alt-right is a group within the far-right, yet this template makes it appears as if the Alt-right is completely distinct from the far-right. 24.84.184.39 (talk) 08:00, 17 September 2017 (UTC)
I agree with this. I would say the alt-right should be removed as it is simply a variant of far-right politics. I would also suggest the post-left should be removed (as it is a variant of far-left politics), as should the New Left and the New Right, since they seem to be more subcategories of the usual spectrum than anything else. It's like putting social democracy up there - that's a subsection of the centre-left, it wouldn't need its own link.

I am going to go ahead and make what I regard as the appropriate edits based on the above. I'll mention this in the Template's history so people can see what the grounds for doing so were (since no-one has responded to me so no disagreements have been raised but people may have them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sdio7 (talk • contribs) 12:25, 9 October 2017 (UTC)
Top image
[edit]I was thinking that instead of the political spectrum section, which has centre-left and centre-right listed twice under both the Centre heading and the heading of their corresponding wing (either Left-wing or Right-wing), it could be more useful and user-friendly to have an image of an actual spectrum. The left-wing, right-wing, and centre possibly could be brackets above the line that overlap, and the labels for the 5 articles (Far-left, Centre-left, Radical centre, Centre-right, Far-right) could be below the line.
I'm not a graphic designer by any means, so before just trying to make the image myself, I was wondering if anyone was interested in making it. BappleBusiness (talk) 03:08, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
- Sounds interesting. Maybe you can go ahead; I don't know how to do it. LongLivePortugal (talk) 18:50, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
