A similar template is under discussion at Template talk:Merseyside major railway stations. Although this template isn't as much of a mess as that one has been, I'd advocate replacing this template with one similar to this suggestion, thus avoiding any argument about what constitutes a "major" station. --RFBailey 21:37, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I was just trying to create regional templates after the arguments...
What is a definition of a major station? Maybe people can just go by what that is or maybe there should be a Wikipedia article setting this out, as in something like Wikipedia:General rules for setting out Major stations. (I am not going to create this).
I am sorry for the "mess" of the Merseyside template. I appreciate your seggestion and am looking generally for guidance on what makes a good template, and how to set one out properly. Btw i was going to edit your talk page message i left so that it would not include "I am new to this" and possibly reword it.
Should i continue in making templates? At all? If so i will probably carry out your suggestion. I have already seen it implemented in the Glasgow areaSimply south 22:07, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have replied to the above at User talk:Simply south. Also, I have created this suggestion as a replacement. --RFBailey 09:14, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The new suggestion would work for the West Midlands, but not counties with huge numbers of stations. Can I suggest that the text is aligned in the centre? Our Phellap 18:32, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the modification. As for other counties, I was just going to suggest such templates for the metropolitan counties (which have PTEs), rather than everywhere. One for Hampshire would probably take up most of the screen. --RFBailey 22:45, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
