Template talk:Year category header

Recategorisation

This template, I presume, is what adds categories like Category:1601 to Category:1600s and Category:Years.

I am in the process of creating a series of categories like Category:Years of the 17th century, which renders use of Category:Years redundant there, as it is a grand-child of that category. I'll need to take a look at the code but hopefully it isn't a problem. Though I'm pretty sure when I created this template I didn't create this categorization, so I just want to make sure that this change isn't controversial and we won't end up with angry editors here. I've created a sandbox version. Check to see if this works like you want. Also, make sure you create the system of categories before the changes go live so we won't have red categories. Gonnym (talk) 15:47, 29 September 2024 (UTC)
