Basic problem

Number pages are (correctly) categorized as Category:Integers. They are not disambiguation pages. If other Wikipedia articles are still ambiguous with the title (not just related to the number), a disambiguation page is needed for "other uses". -- JHunterJ (talk) 21:03, 10 August 2011 (UTC)

This is true. I've deleted the bit which was sending readers to number pages in the absence of disambiguation pages. I've also added a few disambiguation pages (the now exist from 0 to at least 100). JIMp _talk·cont 00:29, 28 January 2013 (UTC)

Number link

@Steel1943: The code I re-added for the number doesn't display if the number page is a redirect, which should avoid some of the bad links. {{3x|p}}ery (talk) 00:34, 18 March 2018 (UTC)

Implicit "number" link

At least one page, 495, looked like this until I fixed it:

This article is about the year 495. For the number, see 495 (number). For the number, see 495 (number).

The number page is explicitly specified in the template. I found this unpleasant. Any way to prevent implicitly linking to the "number" page if it is specified explicitly? This probably isn't a pervasive issue, but I'm not going to search every number to verify. ItsNickBarry (talk) 04:48, 5 April 2018 (UTC)

What's the point?

Why is this specialised template used rather than {{about|the year|the number|xyz (number)}} which would produce the same output? Using this template means that an editor unfamiliar with it has to search the documentation to find how to add a second link to the hatnote, as I've just done at 145. Just seems rather pointless. The template should not appear if there are no links

On most pages, the template currently outputs the unlinked hatnote This article is about the year ####, which is unnecessary clutter (see WP:HATNOTE for the purpose of hatnotes). It should be modified to produce no visible output on such pages. --Paul_012 (talk) 15:44, 28 February 2021 (UTC)
