Teplice District

The Teplice District (Czech: Okres Teplice) is a district in the Czech Republic and is part of the Ústí nad Labem Region along with the districts of Most, Louny, Chomutov, Litoměřice, Děčín and Ústí nad Labem. The Teplice district takes up only about a twelfth of the Ústí nad Labem region. The total area size of Teplice District is 46927 squared Kilometers, it has a population of 127599 (population density 272 people per square Kilometer). The administrative centre of the district is the city of Teplice.

Notable cities and towns

Teplice

The largest town in the district with a population cca. 55000. It is also the administrative center of the district. Teplice is the second largest spa town in the Czech Republic, Teplice is also known for FK Teplice, the local football team playing the first Czech Division.

Duchcov

Duchcov is a small town to the south of Teplice. A historical landmark of Duchcov is the Castle of Dux, where Giovanni Casanova spent his final years.

Osek

Similar in size to Duchcov. The Gothic monastery in Osek has appeared on Czech stamps.

Bílina

Bílina is one of the largest towns besides Teplice. The Bílina River flows through the town.

Dubí

Dubí is located just north of Teplice, close to the German borders.
