Terry Van Duyn is a Democratic member of the North Carolina Senate. She represents District 49, which includes constituents in Buncombe County, North Carolina.

Van Duyn was appointed to the Senate in 2014 to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Sen. Martin L. Nesbitt.[1] She won election to a full term in her own right in November 2014. After the election, she was elected Minority Whip by her colleagues for the 2015-2016 session.[2]
