The Burning is the debut album of Crown of Thorns. It was originally released in 1995 and later re-issued as The Crown album. Musically, this album fuses traditional death metal with melodic death metal and to a lesser extent, black metal, with strong elements of thrash metal.
The song "Night of the Swords" attacks Holocaust deniers.
