The Story Begins is the debut extended play by South Korean girl group Twice. The album was released digitally and physically on October 20, 2015.[1] The album contains six tracks with the lead single, "Like Ooh Ahh".

Background and release

On October 7, 2015, JYP Entertainment launched the band's official website and announced via SNS that the group would debut with the mini-album The Story Begins and title-track "Like OOH-AHH". The track is described as a 'color pop' dance track with elements of hip-hop, rock, and R&B.[2] The composition team included Black Eyed Pilseung, known for composing successful releases such as Miss A's "Only You."[3][4][5][6][7]

Teasers featuring each of the members for their music video were released from October 12 to 14, 2015.[8] On October 20, the song's music video were released online and through the Naver V App.[9]

Within five months after its release, the music video for "Like OOH-AHH" hit 50 million views and replaced 2NE1's "Fire" as the most-viewed debut music video for any K-pop group.[10][11]

Promotion

Twice held a live showcase on October 20, where they performed "Like OOH-AHH" along with dance tracks "Must Be Crazy" and "Do It Again."[12][13]

The group started promoting their title track "Like Ooh Ahh" with the b-side "Do It Again" on music shows on October 22. They first performed the songs on Mnet's M! Countdown,[14] followed by performances on KBS' Music Bank, MBC's Show! Music Core and SBS's Inkigayo.
