The Superiors are a record production and songwriting duo from Wyandanch, New York consisting of Sidney "S.I.D." Reynolds and Javon "Von" Reynolds.

History

Sidney grew up in Wyandanch, New York where he met Rakim and got him influenced unto the music business. In the early '90's, he was already famous for remixing, writing, and producing on albums for Freddie Foxxx, Slick Rick, Color Me Badd, Nikki D, Zhane, and Queen Latifah.[1] Ever since his son (Javon) was five years old, he taught him how to play the guitar, piano, drums, and Logic Pro, so music was all he knew growing up.[2] In 2012͵ The Superiors have produced the song "The Spirit" on Lloyd Banks' twelfth mixtape V.6: The Gift. The production came about when, Von was always working with Banks' engineer, he contacted them one day and told them Banks had rapped on one of their beats and said it was going to be a banger.[3] In, 2013, The Superiors produced the single "Lean & Molly" on Tony Yayo's mixtape, The Godfather Of The Ghetto. That same year, they have produced for Hustle Gang, Jaquae, Twigg Martin, Maino, and more. At the end of the year, they produced the track "The Get Back" by Fabolous' that appeared on his mixtape The S.O.U.L. Tape 3.

The Superiors also made beats for the mixtape series, Plug The Producer on volumes two and seven, presented by Sarah J to showcase new up and coming producers.[4] They were caught in the studio with Dray, Reek da Villian, and Uncle Murda for Dray's single, "Irrelevant" in the middle of 2014.[5] They have production on, "All Good" with Detrakz and "She Wildin'" with Count Justice from Fabolous' album, The Young OG Project. Later that month, The Superiors got production in the single, "Gold Bottles" by female Queens rapper Kristen B. On Instagram, they have announced they've been working on some tracks for Cory Gunz upcoming debut album but, have not been revealed yet.

Production style

The Superiors described their music as, unique sounds that combines hard and smooth music. Their drums are hard and their music is very melodic and orchestral. When their creating beats, they listen to all genres of music and process what feeling the artist their working with to find the prefect mesh for the song.[3]
