Tread Lightly! is a nonprofit organization in the United States with the mission to encourage responsible use of the outdoor.[2] It was started by the United States Forest Service in 1985, but became a nonprofit in 1990.[3][4]

The organization receives funding from car manufacturers, including Ford Motor Company and Toyota.[5]
