Tristan Somchai Do (Template:Lang-th) is a Thai-French professional footballer who plays as a Right back for Thai Premier League club Muangthong United and the Thailand national team.
Personal life
Do was born in Paris. His father is of Thai descent and his mother is French.[1] Do is fluent in French but has only a very limited command of Thai.[2] Do's paternal grandfather was born in Vietnam and moved to Thailand at a young age, thus making him theoretically eligible to play for Vietnam.[3][4] He has cousins that live in Singapore.[1]
Club Career
In 2014, Do joined BEC Tero, a Thai club in the Thai Premier League.[1] After an year with BEC Tero Do joined Muangthong United in 2016.[5][4]

International career
Do is eligible to play for France, Thailand, and Vietnam. The Vietnam Football Federation has contacted Do to play for them, but Do chose to play for Thailand, the country of his father's birth.[1] In 2015, Do had appeared in friendly matches for Thailand U23. Do is part of Thailand U23's squad in the 2015 Southeast Asian Games.[1] Do was called up to the Thailand squad for the first time for the friendly match against Afghanistan and 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier match against Iraq. In September 2015, Do debuted for Thailand against Afghanistan. Subsequently, he played against Iraq in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
