Triton High School is a traditional public high school built in 1985, which currently houses 1,323 students in grades nine through twelve, and 126 instructional staff members. Located in Erwin, North Carolina[5], Triton is one of four high schools in the Harnett County School System[6].

The facilities at Triton High School consist of seventy-two classrooms in the main building, eight portable classrooms, a gymnasium, a media center, three computer labs and 1:1 devices placed in classroom carts.  In addition, we have two computer labs housed in the Business department and 1 computer lab for credit recovery.

Triton High School is one of twenty-seven schools in the Harnett County School System.  Harnett County Schools serves students in seventeen elementary schools, five middle schools, four high schools and one alternative school.  It's attendance area encompasses the communities of Lillington[7], Angier[8], Anderson Creek[9], Cameron[10], Olivia, Mamers, Buies Creek[11], Kipling, Dunn[12], Erwin, and Coats[13].

Triton High School serves the communities of Coats, Erwin and Dunn.

Our students come from many different backgrounds but come mostly from urban and agriculture families. A large percentage of Triton's parents fall into the category of skilled workers. Several of our major employers include: Food Lion Distribution Center, Wal-Mart, Godwin Manufacturing Company, Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital and the Harnett County Schools System. Triton has around 110 churches near our attendance area to serve the religious and spiritual needs of the individuals. For our creative members, our county has Harnett Arts Council and Harnett Regional Theatre.  All three of our towns have a public libraries, and recreation departments with one or more parks to use. Triton High School is within easy commuting distance of 13 higher learning institutions.  Triton is located within 15 miles of three colleges and one university all located within Harnett County. Triton works in cooperation with Central Carolina Community College to make available college level classes both at Triton and on the campus of Central Carolina.[14]
